Dr. Mohammad Najafi, P.E., is an assistant professor and the director of the Center for Underground Research and Education (CUIRE) in the Department of Civil Engineering at The University of Texas-Arlington. He received his B.S. from Texas Tech University, M.S. from Purdue University and Ph.D. from Louisiana Tech University. He is the founder and editor-in-chief of the new ASCE Journal of Pipeline Systems Engineering and Practice. Dr. Najafi’s research interests are in the area of pipelines and underground infrastructure systems construction, renewal, and asset management, with emphasis on the utilization of innovative methods and trenchless technology.
